Road Locomotives – The very name Locomotive conjures up a vision of a powerful engine, whether it be road or rail. The Showman’s Engine is the decorative form of the Road Locomotive, which was developed for hauling heavy loads on the public highway, often working in tandem.
These machines were fitted with better gearing and are usually sprung front and rear, to allow them to travel faster. Because of the distances they had to travel, they also sport bigger water tanks on each side.
